Beijing, Kirsty Coventry broke the world record in the 400 individual medley
in a time of 4:29.80, but took second to Stephanie Rice of Australia, who
swam a time of 4:29.20.
It is the fourth medal (a bronze) for the Zimbabwean who collected three at
the last Olympics in Athens, Greece in 2004--a gold, bronze and silver.
