Mugwadi was at the Market Square bus terminus on his way home in Glenview when seven unidentified men bundled him in a their vehicle before being taken to an area near Kopje. The gang took turns to assault him using various objects including sjamboks, sticks and clenched fists, accussing him of training polling agents for the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC). The assailants also informed Mugwadi that they were looking for the ZINASU President Clever Bere, the Secretary General Lovemore Chinoputsa and former ZINASU President Promise Mkwananzi.
We condemn any acts of violence and banditry at a time when the main political players in the country are currently on the negotiating table to find a solution to the crisis facing the nation.Â
