Certain members, who feel sidelined by President Robert Mugabe, have accused the faction led by Emmerson Mnangagwa of working with Jonathan Moyo who was expelled from the party in 2004.
Sources within the party told The Zimbabwean this week that the disaffected members accuse Mugabe of only offering ministerial and governors posts to members of the Mnangagwa faction.
Some party members are really fighting back this time said a Zanu (PF) senior official who spoke on condition of anonymity.
In a politburo meeting on Saturday some members of the Mujuru faction openly told Mugabe that they were not happy with the way they were being sidelined and wanted Makoni back in Zanu (PF), added the official.
Before the power sharing deal was signed two weeks ago Mugabe expelled most provincial governors aligned to Mujuru and replaced with them those aligned to Mnangagwa – including strong allies like Ray Kaukonde of Mashonaland East who was expelled and replaced by Aenias Chigwedere. Tinaye Chigudu was replaced by Chris Mushowe in Manicaland Province. Both Chigwedere and Mushowe lost the parliamentary elections
