Furniture shop accused of cheating customer

BY STAFF REPORTER
BULAWAYO - It has been alleged that branches of the popular furniture shop, TV Sales and Hire, a subsidiary of the Innscor Africa Limited group, in Zimbabwe's second largest city has been accused of swindling money from customers.

“I bought a kitchen unit, a three piece Tudor dresser for Z$20 493, around 200 trillion in old currency, at TV Sales and Hire and paid with a bank satisfied cheque and cash. I was told the unit would be delivered to my house within seven days but it is a month since then and I have still not received it,” said a customer who wished to be referred to as Dube.

Dube went into the shop to enquire about his purchase and was referred to the regional administrator, Hillary Dindiri. According to Dube, Dindiri asked him to pay a top up fee on his unit as the price had increased, otherwise she would cancel his purchase. Dube informed Dindiri that he had reported the case to the Consumer Council of Zimbabwe (CCZ).

When contacted for comment, Dindiri referred all enquiries to her senior administrator in Harare who was not reachable at the time of going to press.
