S.A CHURCHES OFFERING ZIM’S ASYLUM SEEKERS RELIEF

Zimbabwe's political instability and economic bleeding woes which has seen many Zimbabwean's flee to South Africa is presenting many challenges to south African churches.

South African churches are offreing relief food accomodation and spritual counselling not only to Zimbabwe immigrants, but other nationalities too. Recently despite xenophobic attacks which took place here, the Zimbabwe’s  27 June 2008 presidential run off which had bloodshed against MDC supporters didn’t deter most zimbabweans to enter South africa as they fled terror from Mugabe’s war brigades , remniscent of the liberation war day’s of the 70’s. Again too despite the impending political settlement , there are no bright prospects that these asylum seekers will return home early.
