Why turn to The West now?

All along Mugabe has been telling us that our country's problems stem from The West, the big bogey whose leaders he and his minions vilify at every turn. Now, all of a sudden, his spokesmen tell us that he is now ready to engage the West in a bid to find a lasting solution to the Zimbabwean crisis.
