BULAWAYO - A 45 year-old Bulawayo businesswoman, Rejoice Sibanda-Ncube, has been evicted from her farm in Nyamandlovu after she refused to provide food for Zanu thugs camped at a campaign base adjacent to her farm.

Sibanda-Ncube, who bought the farm three years ago, and her three children were force marched out of her home at midnight by a group of some 10 hungry’ war veterans’ from Redwood farm and accused of refusing to provide them with food, inviting MDC supporters at the farm and not attending Zanu (PF) meetings in the area.

Relating the incident to The Zimbabwean this week, Sibanda-Ncube said the gang was led a notorious war veterans leader in the area, Ngwiza Ncube, and one Ngwenya, Zanu (PF) chairman for Nyamadlovu, looted property and equipment from her home and farm.

“They came around 1am on Friday last week and forced marched me with my three children and my gardener out my farm. They told me not to ever set a foot on the farm as the farm was now belonging to them,” said a traumatized Sibanda-Ncube.

“With one of my workers we returned to the farm on Sunday seeking permission from these war veterans to collect some clothes for me and my children, but they refused and warned us that if we return again they will shoot us. I saw that they had looted most of the farming equipment,” she said.

She has taken legal action seeking arrest and removal of these war veterans.
