ZESN held its 8th Annual General Meeting where it elected Mr. Tinoziva Bere as the new Chairperson. Mr. Bere takes over from Mr Noel Kututwa, who stepped down in June 2008 after a year of dedicated service to the organisation.

Mr. Bere ,is a seasoned legal practitioner and human rights defender.  Working out of the Eastern town of Mutare, not only does he run a successful legal firm, Mr. Bere also works in a number of other capacities. He is a councillor with the Law Society of Zimbabwe as well as a member of the Board of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights. Mr. Bere is also a member of the Commonwealth Bar Association and the Manicaland Lawyers Association.

Mr Bere comes in, at a time when Zimbabwe is facing a number of socio-economic and political challenges that not only need perseverance but courage and strength so that Zimbabwe regains its respect, trust, admiration through respecting human and people’s rights.
