Zimbabwe political leaders sign power-sharing deal

HARARE - Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe, main opposition MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai and Arthur Mutambara - leader of a breakaway MDC faction - on Monday signed a historic power-sharing agreement that that is expected to pave way for the resolution of the country's unprecedented political and economic crisis.

The agreement, brokered by South African President Thabo Mbeki, is an icing on the cake after seven weeks of tortuous negotiations between Zimbabwe’s political rivals following a widely condemned presidential election.
