Ncube has been suspended from his job.

The accusation is baseless and proves only that his personal email was monitored, a Reporters Without Borders spokesperson said.

We call for his reinstatement, the destruction of all the gathered data and an investigation into the government’s violation of the Interception of Communications Act.

Ncube’s suspension tacitly confirms that the crackdown on journalists perceived to be hostile to Mugabe is extending across the entire State media, including the electronic media where government holds a monopoly.
