WOZA leaders denied bail
BULAWAYO - Jenni Williams and Magodonga Mahlangu have been denied bail by Magistrate Charity Maphosa, who claimed that the activists were not honest when asked if there were pending cases against them.
Legal practitioners have stated that if a case is removed from remand, it is no longer pending. Therefore, neither Williams nor Mahlangu had pending cases.
WOZA condemned the ruling as further evidence that the judiciary had been politicised and that the power-sharing talks were a hollow sham.
