Zimbabweans network in SA

JOHANNESBURG - Hundreds of Zimbabweans met in Braamfontein on October 12 to share information and debate political issues.

They were treated to makuru, sadza, mashazhari and maqibi and Aleck Macheso’s music filled the venue.

The fundraising network is the brainchild of MDC SA provincial Chairman, Austin Moyo.

The idea is to get Zimbabweans in South Africa to share notes and to provide a platform for public participation and deliberations. Money raised will go a long way to assist suffering Zimbabweans in South Africa and back home, Moyo said.

Zimbabwe businesmen, MDC supporters and the leaders from other progressive organisations had a thorough debate about the power sharing deal.

Attendants cheered and whistled as Moyo explained that MDC went into a power sharing deal as a laxative to flush out filth in the government, nursed by Zanu (PF).

Zimbabweans in South Africa are encouraged to participate in the club. Tickets cost R100 and there are plans to bring the national leadership down to hear to answer people’s queries. Contact the MDC offices at (011) 339 6930 for more information.
