Forum records 653 cases of torture in three months

 
ABUJA – The Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum submitted a statement on torture in Zimbabwe at the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR) on November 16.
The statement reported that torture has been used systematically in Zimbabwe by Zanu (PF) youth militia, war veterans and state agencies in order to thwart growing opposition against the government. Between April and June this year alone a total of 653 cases of torture were recorded.
