EU. to impose more sanctions

BRUSSELS,  - Unless there is progress in ending the political logjam in Zimbabwe next week, the European Union has put in place plans to impose more sanctions, EU diplomats said here today.

A list containing the names of 11 more cronies of Robert Mugabe has been drawn up and will be added next Monday or Tuesday to that of over 100 officials, including Mugabe, who are banned from travelling to the EU.

It is believed one name would be deleted from the old list.
