Kenya, 2-0 down have to win on Saturday to keep the series alive

Kenya's captain, Steve Tikolo, has to find a wining formula to stop Zimbabwe's onslaught when the two teams meet at the Nairobi Gymkhana on Saturday for their third encounte

The two back to back defeats at the Mombasa Sports Club must have demoralised the hosts whose top order has failed to established meaningful partnerships.

At Mombasa Jimmy Kamande who of late has become the team's utility player was the highest runs getter with 74 and with Tikolo the two were the only ones who managed to get half a centuries.

So far Zimbabwe has out played their hosts in all the departments of the game, Their key batsmen are getting runs and bowlers have been able to restrict the batsman while the fielders have been getting catches.

Previously Kenya has been troubling Zimbabwe even though it is a full member of the International Cricket Council.

The team toured Kenya last October for a tri-series which also involved Ireland at the Nairobi Gymkhana.

Even though four matches were washed out including the final, Kenya (285 for 9) beat Zimbabwe (190 all out) by 95 runs. Each of the three teams registered a win.

Kenya toured Zimbabwe in 2006 for five one day international series which ended on a 2-2 draw. One game failed to take off.

However, this time round Kenya seems to be heading for a whitewash unless they pull up their socks.- Saturday Nation
