Farm Invaders Biti, who was briefing a visiting Danish delegation last Thursday, said
Zanu (PF) and the MDC have managed to implement more than half of their
pledges as outlined in the September 15, 2008 Global Political
Agreement.
Biti, who is also the MDC's secretary general, said the new unity
government would be perfect if it were not for fresh farm invasions
being experienced in some parts of the country.
We have made more progress inside except that there are non-compliant
issues such as fresh farm invasions, Biti said. On a scale of one to
ten, we are definitely above 50 percent in terms of compliance and l
say that from the bottom of my heart.
Biti said he was very frank with the Danish delegation, led by
Denmark’s development minister Ulla Pedersen Tornaes on issues still
hampering progress in the new unity government.
We have had a very frank discussion with her. We were very open with
our figures, with our suffering. We have nothing to hide and even on
the difficult issues that are still troubling us, issues of farm
occupations, he said.
The Danish delegation was in Zimbabwe to assess ways in which it can
assist Zimbabwe 's all-inclusive government restore economic prosperity.
