"I want to make it very clear the reason why Morgan Tsvangirai was in
his party landcruiser with his wife is because he couldn’t get two high
clearance vehicles from the state of Zimbabwe. That couldn’t happen,"
said Mutambara who is the leader of the smaller faction of the Movement
for Democratic Change (MDC). "I travelled to Chimanimani and couldn’t
get a clearance vehicle to travel to my rural area."
Mutambara urged the government of Zimbabwe to put measures in place
inorder to avoid accidents that can be prevented," he said while
addressing a news conference in the capital Harare.
"Let’s try to avoid deaths in our country in particular those of our leaders," Mutambara said.
Mutambara said the police must ensure that when the Prime Minister is
travelling there must be a lead police vehicle to warn traffic coming
that they must drive with caution.
+"We are saying that the Prime Minister must have a lead car with blue
lights indicating the Prime Minister of Zimbabwe is travelling…,"
Mutambara said.
