Bantu Rovers aim to make amends

football.jpgHARARE -- Bulawayo-based side Bantu Rovers will be looking forward to building on their win against Eagles last week when they clash with Shooting Stars at Gwanzura stadium today.
Head coach, Gift Lunga, hopes that lady luck will smile on them once more today, admitting that his team was under pressure following a string of mediocre results.

It was not a matter of not performing, I believe we have just been unlucky, Lunga told The Zimbabwean on Sunday.

Bantu Rovers, a side formed from the ashes of the defunct Eastern
Lions, has managed to collect a paltry seven points from nine outings.
The Bulawayo side together with fellow log anchors, Underhill, has
suffered the most defeats in the 16-team league to date, losing six
matches, a record that had soccer analysts marking them as early
candidates for relegation.

Lunga, a veteran league campaigner with Highlanders, expressed hope his
charges would turn the tables as the league progresses but admitted it
will be tough against Shooting Stars today.

I admit it is a good side and we are going to put our effort as we
have been doing. The better team of the day will win, he declared.

Shooting Stars picked a point in their last away match, drawing 1-1
against Njube Sundowns at Pelandaba Stadium last weekend. They have so
far amassed 13 points from their nine matches.
