FIFA releases fixtures list

JOHANNESBURG FIFA has released the fixtures schedule for the Confederations Cup fixture with less than a month before the tournament kicks off in South Africa.

FIFA Spokesperson Delia Fischer also said ticket sales for tournament had been impressive with more than half of the 600 000 tickets sold to date.

A total of 383,506 tickets have now been sold (about 63 percent) of the total number of tickets available, said Fischer.

In the opening match of the tournament, the host nation South Africa will battle it out with Asian continental football champions-Iraq while the Worlds five time champions Brazil will be locking horns with African Champions Egypt.

In other matches, the United States of America representing the northern half of the American continent will fight it out with world defending champions Italy.

Already close to 400 000 tickets, out of 600 000 have been sold.

Fischer stated that the semi-final and final matches would be played in the commercial capital city of South Africa, Johannesburg.
