The celebratory rallies marking the 10th year existence of the MDC are
being held in every province, culminating in the national celebratory
rally to be held in September 2009 at White City Stadium in Bulawayo.
The next rally will be held in Harare on 31 May 2009.
The 10th anniversary celebrations are being held under theme Celebrating a decade of courage, conviction and leadership.
The rallies are report-back occasions where the MDC leadership briefs
members on the progress being made since the formation of the inclusive
government in February.
Other provincial anniversary rallies have been held in Gweru and
Chinhoyi and thousands of MDC supporters have attended these rallies.
President Tsvangirai will give the keynote address. Other leaders such
as Vice President, Hon. Thokozani Khupe, national chairman, Hon.
Lovemore Moyo, Secretary-General Hon. Tendai Biti, deputy
secretary-general Hon. Tapiwa Mashakada, organising secretary, Hon.
Elias Mudzuri, national treasurer, Senator Roy Bennett and party
spokesperson, Hon. Nelson Chamisa, are some of the leaders expected to
address at the rally.
