MDCs home-going rally in Pretoria East

Thousands of Zimbabweans held a home-going rally in Pretoria Eastsquatter settlements, where the provincial leadership shared with them information about the situation at home. The Zimbabweans braved the chilly weather to come and listen to their leaders who told them to brace for a mass trip back to Zimbabwe to start rebuilding the country.

Paul Madzores Mupata weJericho title boomed from car loud-speakers as the provincial leadership circled in the dusty informal settlement much to the excitement of home sick Zimbabweans.

The rally was held in a dusty squatter settlement which is now home for close to 2000 Zimbabweans who are doing menial work in the nearby construction industry.

All the Zimbabweans had one request to their leaders. They all want to go back home through a process facilitated by MDC.

Where are we going to start from after so many years of being in Diaspora, we have high hopes that the party will assist us by orderly repatriating us, said one Zimbabweans, who identified himself as Moses.

MDC SA organizing Secretary Rodgers Mudarikwa, advised them to organize themselves into party structures so that assistance could be channeled through their local leadership.

Mudarikwa, who was assisted by the provincial Secretary, William and Publicity Secretary Sibanengi Dube went on to install an MDC district structure in Pretoria.
