The three, B Manyange, L Thusi and W Dube, refused to be reassigned to new bases in Bulawayo, Harare and Kwekwe early this year.The matter has now been referred to the Public Service Commission.Manyange, through his lawyers, stated that his transference was in contravention of some provisions of the Public Service regulations.
When contacted for comment, Mpofu said the ministry officials’ transfers were one of the many initiatives meant to bring sanity to the mining sector.
“These mining commissioners are literally refusing to be transferred. Where have you ever heard of a civil servant refusing to be reassigned? Doing so is resisting a Government’s directive. Reassigning them is an attempt at bringing transparency to the mining sector,” he said
