President Rupiah Banda announced the move at a press conference held at
Rainbow Towers Hotel in Bulawayo, in Zimbabwe today at the end of his
four-day state visit to that country. Mr. Banda has since left for
Zambia and was seen off by his Zimbabwean counterpart Robert Mugabe and
other senior Zimbabwean government officials. Also on hand to see off
Mr. Banda were Zambia's High Commissioner to Zimbabwe Sipula Kabanje,
Agriculture minister Brian Chituwo and other senior government
officials. President Banda, who is accompanied by First Lady Thandiwe
Banda, is scheduled to arrive in Lusaka this afternoon.

Zambia gives Zimbabwe 9 000 metric tonnes of maize
From The Lusaka Times,Zambia has given Zimbabwe 9000 metric tonnes of maize. The intervention is part of Zambia's contribution to Zimbabwe's economic recovery programme as recently agreed to by SADC leaders.
