HARARE Instead of inviting foreign investors, Zimbabwe should allow its own sons and daughters who fled the country to come home, said businessman Philip Chiyangwa.Its disappointing to note that a lot of business people, who could revive the countrys economy, fled the country because of a situation you politicians created. Now you are calling for investors to come and assist us, said Chiyangwa. How do you expect the international world to believe that you are honest in your business dealings when you continue to bar your own citizens from returning?
The then acting Prime Minister, Arthur Mutambara, last week said he had convinced President Robert Mugabe to come up with ways of encouraging Zimbabwean business people to return.
As a government we have discussed the issue and the President said something should be done, said Mutambara.
