Home Affairs sets up Jozi office

JOHANNESBURG The Zimbabwean Ministry of Home Affairs has started issuing travel documents for Zimbabweans already in South Africa, it has emerged.

An office in Johannesburg processes Emergency Travel Documents (ETDs) while they wait, and then after six months they can return to collect their passports.”We have set up offices in Johannesburg where Zimbabweans can apply for papers. When they submit their forms they have to pay R500 then an ETD is processed. After six months they then have to go back to get their passports,” said the co-Minister of Home Affairs, Kembo Mohadi.

According to sources, the office in Marshalltown was a hive of activity as the Zimbabwean government tried to legalise its citizens in South Africa.
