MSU in deal to help students pay

university_students_in_classGWERU- Midlands State University has relaxed conditions of payment of fees by students who are attending the special semester as scores of students could not afford fees in full. Students who are failing to come up with the required fees at once are being asked to apply for exemption and to present a schedule for stagg

Parents do not have money and nobody does but what we want is for students to commit themselves to a schedule of payment stipulating how they are going to pay the balance.

The special semester is in itself a response to the grievances of our students and we are allowing them to stagger their fees because we want them to finish their studies, said Erasmus Mupfiga, the registrar.

This is a special semester that was requested by students and it demands a lot from lectures and the institution. Those students who are not ready should wait for the August semester. We have an open policy where students present their problems to the institution through the registrar and agree with the registrar on terms of settling what they owe to the institution, he said.

MSU arranged a special semester for some students to compensate for the semester the institution aborted due to economic challenges and the political turmoil in the country last year.
