Gutu West Member of Parliament, Noel Mandebvu, said:
The gold has always been in Gutu, but was abandoned after foreign miners claimed the mineral had been exhausted. But, I understand some miners bought claims there, said Mandebvu.
The minister of Mines and Mining Development, Obert Mpofu, said his ministry would send experts to investigate the availability of the mineral so that if there was need for large-scale mining the government would put the area under protection.
