Harrison Mudzuri said groups of Zanu supporters and war veterans were targeting schools in wards where there is a strong MDC support base, harassing teachers and pupils. They are beating up MDC supporters and are harassing teachers and children, said Mudzuri, who is also a school teacher.
He alleged that Zanu (PF) had deployed its militia, the notorious green bombers, as temporary teachers so that they could spy on teachers who are critical of President Robert Mugabe and his party. The violence has resulted in several teachers fleeing the constituency in fear at a time when there is a serious shortage of teachers across the country.
