HARARE - Urban grooves artists Mafriq, Roki and Winky Dee are set to debut on the international circuit at the ground-breaking Southern African Music Airwaves in the UK this August. (Picuterd: Musicians from Mafriq, one of the groups to hit the UK this summer)

Im happy that I will go to overseas for the first time, said Roki. I hope to open more doors. The only stumbling block will be securing visas, said Tunga T from Mafriq.

The festival will potentially open up exciting opportunities for the arts industry in Zimbabwe and also act as an inspiration to up-and-coming musicians in the field. With such urban groove artists getting the limelight abroad, they can finally claim that their genre is now getting the attention theyve been craving.
