The website would be used as a tool of communication and getting ideas from the public and most importantly, this is a vehicle that shows that there is a new paradigm in Zimbabwe, Information, Communication Technology Minister Nelson Chamisa.
ICT Minister Nelson Chamisa said the website launch marks the beginning of a consolidated re-branding exercise for Zimbabwe.
We need to use this way of communicating to tell the world about the Global Political Agreement GPA which is a peaceful way of solving problems, said Chamisa.
The move by the ICT ministry comes a few months after the Ministry of Finance also launched website to improve interaction with Zimbabweans and the world at large.
Most ministries do not have websites to communicate their programmes to Zimbabweans. ICT permanent secretary Samuel Kundishora said the ministry was working with ministries and government departments to ensure they set up websites to improve the flow of information between the ministries and the public.
We have set inter-ministerial group which include representatives of all the ministries in the country. We are working with them to ensure that every ministry comes up with a website. This is because there is need to use the internet as a vehicle of communication, said Kundishora.
