Mahlangu was picked up by the police at his ministrys offices this afternoon. His arrest comes in the wake of renewed persecution of MDC MPs and ministers. At least seven MPs are facing trumped-up charges while the partys Secretary-General and Minister of Finance, Hon Tendai Biti, yesterday received a letter with a bullet inside it.

MDC National Youth Chairman Mahlangu arrested
The MDC Youth Assembly chairperson and deputy Youth Minister, Hon Thamsanqa Mahlangu, has been detained at Harare Central Police in unclear circumstances. According to MDC lawyers, Hon. Mahlangu, who is also the MP for Nkulumane, has been detained since 1pm.
