Senior sources at the hospital told The Zimbabwean that the bodies are going to the UZs anatomy department, which tabled a request for bodies to use for medical class.
Only bodies destined for pauper’s burials, or those which had spent an inordinately long time unclaimed, would be donated.

Unclaimed corpses used for medical research
HARARE - The Harare Central Hospital is in talks with the medical faculty at the University of Zimbabwe to donate cadavers lying unclaimed in the cramped hospital mortuary. The mortuary is bursting on the seams as Zimbabweans are abandoning the bodies of their relatives at mortuaries because they can no longer afford to bury them.
