Addressing journalists at the Bulawayo Press Club on Friday, Bhebhe said the leadership had been working with Zanu (PF) ever since he and other MPs voted against party candidate Paul Themba Nyathi for the post of speaker of parliament. Lovemore Moyo won the speakers post. Zanu PF is behind this, said Bhebhe.
He accused the deputy secretary-general of his party, Priscilla Misihairabwi, who is also the minister of regional integration, of being one the party leaders who worked tirelessly to force Arthur Mutambara to reverse his appointment.
Mutambara had no problem with me being appointed minister, he said. When I went to Mutambaras house, I found Priscilla crying. She was begging Mutambara to reserve my appointment as minister, said the Nkayi MP.
Contacted for comment on Saturday, Misihairabwi said Bhebhe and other suspended MPs should focus on campaigning for by-elections if they still wanted to be in parliament, instead of going around addressing journalists on that issue. We have already written to parliament to notify the vacant seats, said Misihairabwi.Post published in: News
