The provincial rallies are celebratory rallies marking the 10th year existence of the MDC and are also report back occasions where the MDC leadership briefs the nation on the progress being made since the formation of the inclusive government in February.
The rallies are being held under the theme: Celebrating a decade of courage, conviction and leadership.
The President will be accompanied by the entire MDC leadership, including the Vice President, Hon. Thokozani Khupe, national chairman, Hon. Lovemore Moyo and secretary-general, Hon. Tendai Biti.
President Tsvangirai is also expected to touch on the life and health of the party since its formation in 1999.
Other provincial celebrations have been successfully held in Mashonaland West, Central and East, Midlands South, Masvingo and Matebeleland South provinces. The rallies will be held in every province, culminating in the national celebratory rally to be held at White Stadium on 13 September 2009.
The next provincial rally will be held in Matebeleland North on 23 August.
Meanwhile, Vice-President Khupe will on Saturday address a report back rally at Chibuwe Primary School, in Musikavanhu constituency, Manicaland province. Hon. Khupe will be accompanied by Hon. Biti, MDC Treasurer-General, Senator Roy Bennett and his deputy, Hon. Elton Mangoma.



All roads this weekend lead to Sakubva stadium in Manicaland where MDC President, Morgan Tsvangirai will on Sunday address a 10th anniversary celebration rally.
