She is also a member of the party’s National Council and attended last week’s meeting held in Harare. Dangarembga, a renowned filmmaker, was introduced as a member of the National Council at last week’s meeting.
She is one of the few artists who have made their political inclinations public which is a very rare move by Zimbabwean artists who usually prefer to hide their political feelings in their artistic works.
Meanwhile, another long forgotten artist, Joshua Sacco, of the Ivhu Upenyu fame, is vying for a position in the Zanu PF national youth executive.
The Zanu PF youth conference started yesterday in Harare and is expected to chose new leadership to replace the Saviour Kasukuwere led executive.

Prominent filmaker, Tsitsi Dangarembga, has marked her place in the political realm. She has joined the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) party led by Proffessor Arthur Mutambara and is risen through the party ranks landing herself a position in the party's top echoleons.
