The Youth Assembly condemns in the strongest sense this barbaric act which flies directly in the face of the Global Political Agreement entered into by the three major political parties in Zimbabwe. To say the least, this is clear evidence of Zanu PFs lack of paradigm shift and total disregard of the GPA. We therefore reiterate our position that the Attorney-General, Johannes Tomana who is the chief architect of this madness should go. Zimbabwe is destined for doom with an ugly political future and rule of law and justice will remain abstract concepts if we continue having the likes of Tomana in office. We cannot continue to play second fiddle to Zanu PFs dirty tricks in this inclusive government and yet we are the party that won the elections. It is high time Zanu PF respected us and the people of Zimbabwe. We advise the police to stick to and execute their duty professionally without displaying partisanship.
In light of the above, the MDC Youth Assembly therefore, calls for the immediate release of Hon. Mahlangu and the dropping of all the charges levelled against him especially considering the flimsy and frivolous nature of these allegations.
