Masitara has since 2007 been plying his trade in the Botswana Mobile league with Nico United FC. He scored over 35 goals in his two seasons in Botswana.
According to media reports from Botswana, Liga Musculumane are said to have tabled a hefty US$ 43 000 for the player.
Masitara, who is currently in Bulawayo and training with his former club Railstars, confirmed that the Mozambican premier league side is after his services.
The deal has not yet sailed through but the two teams are in talks about my move to Mozambique, said Masitara in an interview.
In his maiden season in Botswana, Masitara scored 28 goals in all competitions and scored 17 in the last season.
A number of Botswana clubs are reported to have been keen on signing the Zimbabwean player.
Clubs such as Mochudi Centre Chiefs, who are the defending champions and Gaborone United were said to be interested in Masitara.
