Government has come up with a plan to use the COSAFA football tournament to churn out propaganda about the country, it has emerged. Tourism and hospitality minister Walter Mzembi told guests at the COSAFA draw on Thursday night that cabinet had already approved a plan to give out false information about peace and tranquility in the country.Were going to use COSAFA as bait, Mzembi said, adding that the authorities wanted to bring as many tourists as possible into the country, even if it meant peddling the falsehood that the COSAFA event had been hosted by Zimbabwe because of its peaceful record.
Mzembi said: Two weeks ago I presented a report to cabinet. I told them COSAFA is our dress rehearsal. If we dont deliver COSAFA, if we cant host Zambia, how do we hope to host England or Brazil.
COSAFA vice-chair Salame Phafane spoke at length about Zimbabwes unity government, praising the countrys people for finally deciding to rebuild the country.
