Trouble brews again at Monoz

monomotapa_fcHARARE Zimbabwe champions Monomotapa have been rocked by problems again. The team executive is now investigating the conduct of the coaches following the teams crashing out of the African Champions League tournament in a 2-0 defeatby Tunisias Etoile du Sahel.

Management have suspended head coach Rodwell Dhlakama and team manager Clayton Munemo to allow investigations to go ahead. Rumours are rife that the technical department could have thrown their game to the Tunisians.

It is alleged that the Zimbabwe champions were given a luxury bus in Sousse to ferry them to and from the match venue. whichs has raised eyebrows within the team management.

This follows a report compiled by the head of delegation who said there was something amiss about the conduct of the technical team.

However, observers have also raised questions over the way the team management is handling issues at the club. Some have questioned why the team management did not investigate the humiliating 5-0 defeat to TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi.

The Zimbabwean champions finished their African campaign without registering a single victory away from home.

Assistant coach Taurai Mangwiro has taken over in an acting capacity.

Last month, the club management suspended senior players, including captain Mthulisi Maphosa, following action by players over pay.
