Zanu (PF) females fight for positions

zanupf_womanBULAWAYO - Violence marred a Zanu (PF) womens league provincial meeting held in the city on Saturday. The meeting was organized to select Bulawayo women candidates who will contest for top positions in Zanu national Womens League elections to be held concurrently with that Leagues Congress next week.

As well as characterising its national election strategy, violence has become an integral part of Zanu (PF)’s internal election process, say observers.
“This culture of violence has permeated every level of the party. It will be difficult to stamp it out – but if Zimbabwe is to ever become a truly democratic nation, this has to be done. And it must start from the top,” said one political analyst.
Eunice Sandi, Canisiya Satiya and Judith Ncube were finally nominated to stand for the province.
