All is not well in Mashonaland East

mdc_logoThe situation in Mashonaland East is very depressing to say the least. There is a leadership crisis. We are so resentful, so depressed that the ground on which we stand has ceased to be solid under our feet because of the quality of some of the leaders that we have in the party.

I come from Mutoko and I live in Mutoko and I have been following events very closely. The new MDC-T Mashonaland East Province Chairman, Patrick Chabvamuperu, is simply hopeless and tantamount to an insult to the people of Mutoko and Mashonaland East. Our hearts bleed heavily when we see Patrick Chabvamuperu. Why MDC keeps him there at the expense of the party is baffling. I can only suspect someone or some people are using him for their interests.

You will remember, in the year 2000 Chabvamuperu persecuted MDC supporters here in Mutoko. We have never forgiven him and we are still waiting for justice to take its course.

He left Zanu (PF) when he was beaten by Olivia Muchena during the primary elections in the June 2000 elections and found sanctuary in the MDC-T party. Who ever accepted him in the MDC-T did us a disservice; it is no different from accepting Jonathan Moyo to be a member of MDC-T leadership. He is not our type, the blood that flows in Chabvamuperus arteries and the blood that flows in us who are in the MDC-T is totally different, thats why he cannot sing our tunes, thats why he cannot speak our language and he should take a listeners role in the MDC before he becomes our leader.

One may begin to wonder if these facts are true, I am not writing what I have heard or read from Kwayedza Newspaper, I am one of his victims. He instructed a group of Zanu (PF) Youths to urinate over my body after beating me thoroughly when he was a Zanu (PF) loyalist.

I implore the relevant authorities to send a team to investigate these allegations. Please spare us in Mashonaland East, we deserve better. We have seen clean, focused and capable leaders before who managed to win some very difficult constituencies just down the road.

This situation cannot be ignored any longer, something m
