Citrus farm deteriorates

citrus_estateCHEGUTU The son of Senator Edna Madzongwe has taken up residence in the grabbed Stockdale citrus estate owned by Peter Etheredge and selling equipment while the citrus farming is abandoned.

Madzongwe has moved 28 cattle onto the farm, it would be interesting to know where they came from, said a source in the area. She is building two guard houses near the entrance and the bricks cement and sand were all stolen from Stockdale.

Madzongwe’s son Valentine has been selling bits and pieces of equipment from the farm in Chegutu and the surrounding area. Very little attention has been given to the management of citrus, no fertilizer or chemicals have been applied.

In a recent statement, Etheredge said that he had a detailed inventory of everything on the farm and threatened a civil case against Madzongwe if anything was missing.
