Komichi said the police in should act impartially in all reported political violence nature and bring all perpetrators to book. He said his party was disturbed by cases of fresh political violence perpetrated against its members.
“We are told there are traditional leaders who have taken the positions of Zanu (PF) organizers and commissars and are threatening to burn down houses of our supporters come the next election. These people are known by the communities for terrorizing our supporters and the police should not profess ignorance about such genuine reports.
“These reports discredit our government which has brought hope not only to Zimbabweans but also to the international community and investors, said Komichi
He urged MDC supporters to continue reporting any political violence or threat to the police and to keep the criminal record number.
“We will continue making follow-ups to police stations where reports of political violence were made and demand impartiality. We do not want anyone to disturb the justice delivery process, said Komichi.
Last week the MDC Director for Security, Kisimusi Dhlamini, was quizzed by the police after he has complied and forwarded to Attorney General’s office a 200-name dossier of June 27 2008 presidential run-off political violence cases, with the names of both perpetrators and victims.
