The donation consisted of furniture and textbooks. Refugee Community Representative, Assalie Hagenimana, said last week that sharing textbooks had significantly dropped. The donation has improved the learning environment here although we still need a lot of support, said Hagenimana.
The donation, which was handed over by UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Zimbabwe Marceline Hepie, Hagenimana said will go a long way in improving the education system in the camp schools.
We appreciate this donation from the US Embassy. Some of our needs in the camp such as shelter cannot be meet without the assistance of the Non-Governmental organisations, he said.
He appealed to other non-governmental organisations to come up with livelihood sustenance programmes such as market gardening, which will help improve their lives.
