The councillor, who was making a list of potential beneficiaries of NGO-donated farm inputs, was attacked by a Zanu (PF) gang led by Tatenda Tsvanu. The assault was reported at Sadza police station.
The councillor now fears for her life and can no longer effectively carry out her duties. Zanu thugs are also barring suspected MDC supporters, especially teachers from boarding buses. Last year Tsvanu destroyed councillor Bhunus rural and Marondera urban houses. The incidents were reported at Marondera police but no action was taken by the law enforcement agents, said a source privy to the attacks.
