MDC councilors urged to further education

mdc__chMARONDERA The destiny of the Zimbabwe economy is determined by the calibre of MDC officials, MDC Marondera district chairman, Chengetai Murova, said last Saturday.

Murova further explained that the nation entrusted the MDC with the mandate to turn around fortunes of a country destroyed by skewed economic policies of Zanu (PF) and that, at council level, councillors must strive to attain relevant professional qualifications to make a difference from previous Zanu PF city fathers. Zanu (PF) councillors applied defective trial and error methods to deliver services. Now that Zanu (PF) is dead, MDC office bearers must excavate seeds of present crises sown by Mugabe since 1980.

MDC city fathers are a visionary and youthful pack, who must acquire recognized professional skills in order to enhance service delivery to rate payers. As a party, we are humbled to learn that the electorate remains supportive and wants to give us a chance to pull the country out of the economic quagmire, in face of sporadic acts of sabotage by Zanu supporters. We must sharpen our service delivery skills in line with dynamics of modern economies, said Murova.

Speaking at the same occasion, District chairlady, Mable Tenfara, called on Zimbabweans to utilize opened educational institutions to further their education irrespective of age. The government, under the professional leadership of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, opened schools and other essential institutions to improve the welfare of the people. Everyone must acquire knowledge from available educational facilities to contribute towards nation building. Women and youths must benefit from some semblance of democracy brought by the MDC through the inclusive government, Tenfara said.

She challenged women as the majority, to continue supporting party president Morgan Tsvangirai and embrace MDC ideology for a bright future.
