HARARE- Monotapa defender Asan Nhongo could not hide his delight after he was voted Man of the Match during the opening match of the COSAFA Challenge Cup tournament against Mauritius at Rufaro Stadium at the weekend.The roving defender who was deployed to the midfield role by Warriors coach Sunday Chidzambwa told ***The Zimbabwean*** in a post match interview that it was a great honour for him to be chosen.
“I am really excited about this,” said Nhongo. I want to dedicate this achievement to all my team mates as well as the fans who supported us throughout the match even when our opponents were in control.”
COSAFA organisers believe Nhongo went beyond the call of duty by playing his heart out during the match.
