According to MDC Women Organizing Secretary for Mashonaland East, Edna Muswe, Zanu (PF) council chairperson Zvikomborero Manguwa is using his post to divert donations.
Manguwa diverted food donated by Christian Care, saying only bona fide supporters of Zanu (PF) will benefit from donations, said Muswe. Villagers have nowhere to go to report their predicament amid allegations that dockets of political cases have disappeared from Mutawatawa Police Station.
Meanwhile, rallies organized by the MDC in Maramba and Mutoko South and lawfully sanctioned by the police have been disrupted by rowdy Zanu (PF) supporters, including Lovemore Nyavasha from Kadema village. Nyavasha has told supporters of our party that this time around people who openly show support for MDC will be beheaded, say villagers. The MDC leadership in the area said they had taken the matter to party leaders as the local police were partisan. There is no way we can get justice from the police as they are insensitive to our plight, said Silas Hungwe, the MDC Secretary for Mashonaland East.
