The Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) bought the premises.
Officially opening the centre at Harvey Brown Road, the Netherlands ambassador to
Zimbabwe, Joseph Weterings, said: The centre will create a platform for cultural innovation and development in Zimbabwe as well as encourage information and knowledge-sharing between Zimbabweans and the international world.
He said he hoped it would become a cultural hub, meeting place for artists and a platform where information and technical support would be provided to cultural
Practitioners.
The resource centre is equipped with computers, broadband internet, a library and a meeting room. It houses a collection of published and unpublished materials, documents on the arts and culture, development, gender mainstreaming, human rights, HIV/AIDS and many other local and international themes.

HARARE The Royal Netherlands Embassy has donated US$27,000 to help set up and equip a resources centre run by the Culture Fund of Zimbabwe Trust.
