Kaiser Chiefs recall wonder boy Musona

kaizer_chiefsJOHANNESBURG South African glamour club Kaizer Chiefs head coach Vladimir Vermezovic has finally yielded to pressure by recalling Zimbabwean soccer striker Knowledge Musona to the teams first eleven.

The club said the recall followed Musonas impressive performance against old foes Orlando Pirates in Johannesburg a fortnight ago.

Head coach, Vladimir Vermezovic has recalled young sensation Knowledge Musona to the starting line up after he once again impressed against Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium, the club said in a statement last week.

Fans had questioned the impressive Musonas continued absence from the starting eleven despite his goal scoring exploits.

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwean teenage prodigy repaid Vermezovic in style with a brace against Mpumalanga Black Aces as the teams settled for a 3-3 draw last Wednesday.

Aces made their intentions clear as early as the 12th minute when Esau Mtsweni fired home from close range with the visitors defence at sea. Musona replied in the 14th minute to pull the teams level.

Clifford Mulenga found the back of the net for Aces in the 29th minute and seven minutes later Mpho Maleka took advantage of Chiefs shaky defence when he beat the stretched Arthur Bartman to give Aces a 3-1 lead.

But the nimble-footed Musona was on hand again in the second half to reduce the deficit.

As Aces seemed headed for a memorable win, Bafana Bafana winger Siphiwe Tshabalala equalised with a stunning strike in injury time.
